Узимајући у обзир ограничен корпус извора, проучавање српског средњег века даје завидне научне резултате. Па ипак, поједини сегменти живота средњовековне Србије још увек нису у довољној мери осветљени. Једна од недовољно истражених тема јесте и појање у оквиру свакодневног богослужења. Мада је приликом свога истраживања Весна Пено консултовала наизглед обимну домаћу литературу, јасно се види да многа постављена питања још увек нису добила задовољавајући одговор, а већ су се појавила и нова.
